Palace Grounds

Walk in the footsteps of colonial governors and learn how they lived.  Stroll through more than 14 acres of colonial revival gardens and visit the Kitchen Office where the cook and other servants prepared meals in a state of the art kitchen.  Explore the Stable Office, the only remaining original structure from the 1770’s, to see where Tryon’s horses were kept.  On most days, witness how a soldier lived in a military encampment and experience the roar of a musket firing. Tryon Palace’s story is revealed, step by step.
