Collections

The more you look, the more wonderful things you’ll find at Tryon Palace.

Our amazing collections of paintings, furniture and other decorative arts lend authenticity to our historic sites but, more than that, they provide a glimpse into the everyday lives of the people who have lived and worked in Tryon Palace and the surrounding homes.

Rotating exhibits, event celebrations like the African American Jonkonnu celebration, and our Gertrude Carraway Research Library provide visitors with more opportunity for insight into early life and culture in New Bern and colonial North Carolina.
