Plan your next corporate meeting or large fundraiser at one of the many accommodating venues available at the contemporary North Carolina History Center, or at one of our historic sites.  From a private meeting of six members to a special event of 300 attendees or more, we offer venues to facilitate your needs and make it outstanding!  If a larger venue is needed, the South Lawn of the Palace can accommodate a tented event for 500 guests.

Debnam-Hunt Board Room

This sophisticated, upper-story board room with large windows offering panoramic views of the Trent River and bridges and a waterfront balcony to escape to during breaks, with comfortable seating, and state-of-the-art presentation equipment including audio/video and internet. A conveniently adjacent catering kitchen and breakout room can facilitate all-day meetings with catering. Approx. 832 sq. ft.

Cannon Gateway located in the North Carolina History Center

Cannon Gateway Gallery

A spacious gallery with a high ceiling and large windows that face out to the Palace’s South Lawn and Wilderness paths and convenient access to a state-of-the art catering kitchen. Ideal for seated dinners and standing receptions for between 70 to 100 guests. Approx. 1,792 sq. ft

Wainwright Activity Classroom

Multipurpose room for small informal meetings or group activities.  Ideal space for hobby and craft workshops or activities.  461 sq. ft

Cullman Performance Hall

A stately, yet intimate 194-seat multipurpose auditorium designed for lectures, movies, ensemble or recital music performances, and dramatic presentations. Cullman Performance Hall features high-quality acoustics, excellent sight lines for quality viewing, and is outfitted with state-of-the-art theater lighting.

Mattocks Hall

From the sweeping vaulted ceiling to the columned corridors and the view of the historic 19th century Seth Thomas Clock crowning its entrance, Mattocks Hall’s majestic contemporary setting is perfect for special dinners, wedding receptions, milestone celebrations and fundraising events. Approx. 4,197 sq. ft.

Bate Commons, located at the North Carolina History Center adjacent to the Riverwalk

Bate Commons

An open-air courtyard surrounded on three sides by the History Center, offers an open view of our natural wetland gardens and the Trent River, perfect for private open-air or tented gatherings. Bate Commons’ lower level leads to a waterside pavilion with benches for enjoying serene sunset views. This venue adjoins Mattocks Hall to accommodate an impressive indoor/outdoor event. Approx. 3,500 sq. ft

Historic Side

Ca.1880 Commission House

A beautifully historic setting for meetings, luncheons, small dinners or receptions with a lovely garden for your guests. Approx. 1,300 sq. ft., kitchen, indoors.

South Lawn

A sweeping lawn encircled by trees and gardens with a view of the Trent River from the Palace’s south entrance, this majestic venue can accommodate large tented gatherings and dining events, as well as outdoor concerts or performances.  Approx. 63,200 sq. ft.

All Rates are quoted for 4-hour events.  Extended hours will add to rate.
