Kellenberger Garden

This walled garden honors the daughter of Mrs. Latham, May Gordon Latham Kellenberger and her husband John, who were instrumental benefactors in the rebuilding of the Palace and grounds and served on the Commission for several decades. It is considered a “privy garden” matching to the Green Garden on the west.

The garden is designed to be viewed both from ground level and interior of Palace, as a stained-glass effect from myriad of different bloom colors. Renovated in 2019 as part of an HVAC upgrade to the Palace, with more emphasis on year-round color and pink blooms- Mrs. Kellenberger’s favorite color. The garden also features a balance of sun and shade plants from Kitchen to Wilderness sides.
