Winterfeast: Spring Edition Is Coming to tryon Palace March 26

Get ready, oyster fans, because Tryon Palace’s Winterfeast: Spring Edition is just around the corner! Traditionally offered in the NC History Center during January, the 2022 Winterfeast fundraising event is being moving to Saturday, March 26, just days after Winter shifts into Spring bringing brighter and warmer days, but still in season for tasty oysters. Winterfeast: Spring Edition will be held outside on the south lawn of the Governor’s Palace, with magnificent views of the Governor’s Mansion and the Trent River.
In addition to the bushels of plump, juicy oysters, Winterfeast attendees can feast upon, savory roast pig, jambalaya, shrimp and grits, chowder, mac ‘n cheese, apple cobbler and other mouth-watering dishes. The popular, Molasses Creek of Ocracoke Island, will be performing throughout the evening. Their recordings featuring folk, traditional bluegrass, and originals, have received airplay around the world, including releases in 2012 and 2014 reaching the top 5 in the National Folk Charts. This feast is not to be missed!
Tickets are on sale now. VIP tickets are $85 and offer one-hour early admission to the event at 5:30 pm, a free ticket for your choice of beer or wine, and swag. Limited to 200, VIP tickets are selling out fast. GA tickets are $60 ($55 if you are a Foundation Member), with entry to the event at 6:30 pm. A cash bar serving wine and beer will be available.
Winterfeast is Tryon Palace Foundation’s most successful fundraiser, and this is a great way to come out and share your support while enjoying traditional North Carolina fare and entertainment. All proceeds from the event benefit the Foundation and their mission to support the Tryon Palace Historic Sites and Gardens by protecting, preserving, and developing the legacy of its historical past. Recent accomplishments of the Foundation include the construction of the Barnhill Garden Cottage (to open this year), and the renovation of the New Bern Academy, one of New Bern’s historic treasures.
