Sleepy Hollow features multiple Tryon Palace locations in finale

What if Benjamin Franklin lived in the Stanley House? What if the Dixon House was the residence of Ichabod and Katrina Crane? What if Tryon Palace itself was actually a colonial military stronghold? Well, in the season two finale of Fox’s “Sleepy Hollow,” they were. Scenes shot and filmed around the grounds of Tryon Palace in January were prominently featured in the season finale, which aired Monday, Feb. 26, (No spoilers ahead).

One of the first scenes in the episode was a wide shot of the front gates of the Governor’s Palace and the palace itself. Another shot showed the outside of the Stanley House where Benjamin Franklin resided. While the exterior of the Dixon House was not shown, the home’s interior was unmistakable.

In celebration of the finale, memorabilia from the show’s filming around Tryon Palace will be on display this week, including a Sleepy Hollow sheriff’s badge worn by Nicole Beharie (Abbie Mills) and an autographed poster from Tom Mison (Ichabod Crane). The items will be on display through Sunday, March 1, at the North Carolina History Center.
