New Bern’s African American History on Tour with Tryon Palace

Tryon Palace’s monthly African American Heritage Tour will lead visitors on a walking tour to more than 20 historic locations around the heart of downtown New Bern at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.

The Tryon Palace African American Heritage Tour will be offered on the third Sunday of each month through November. 

Tours begin at the Waystation, located on the corner of George and Pollock streets, at 2 p.m. Tickets are included with the purchase of a One Day Pass, or may be purchased separately at a cost of $6 for adults and $3 for youth. Tickets sold on a first come-first served basis. Space is limited.

Admission is free for Tryon Palace Foundation members.
