Hours of Operation

Tryon Palace staff and volunteers are hard at work getting the site safe for visitors. Progress is being made and Tryon Palace will be reopening soon! Please pay attention to our website and social media for further announcements. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Tryon Palace is closed Mondays and the following days: Thanksgiving Day, December 24-27 (2018), and January 1, 2019. 

Beginning July 1, Tryon Palace will be closed to the public on Mondays. This closure will affect all Tryon Palace properties, including the Governor's Palace and grounds, historic buildings, gardens, and the North Carolina History Center. This weekly closure is to ensure that Tryon Palace can continue to offer visitors a top-quality visitation experience by completing necessary maintenance required to preserve the buildings and grounds. 

The hours below reflect the Tryon Palace Spring times beginning Sunday, March 11.  

 

Tryon Palace Grounds:

  • Tuesday – Saturday: Open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday: Open Noon to 6 p.m.

Governor’s Palace:

  • Tuesday – Saturday: Tours begin at 10 a.m. Last tour is at 4 p.m.
  • Sunday: Tours begin at 12:30 p.m. Last tour is at 4 p.m.

Kitchen Office:

  • Tuesday – Saturday: Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: Open 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Dixon and Stanly Houses:

  • Tuesday – Saturday: Guided tours will take place from 12:30 – 3 p.m.
  • Sunday: Guided tours will take place from 12:30 – 3 p.m.

North Carolina History Center:

  • Tuesday – Saturday: Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: Open Noon to 5 p.m.

The Governor’s Palace has guided tours every half hour, beginning at 10 a.m. and the last tour is at 4 p.m. The Kitchen Office is a self-paced building open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Dixon and Stanly houses have guided tours from 12:30-3 p.m. The North Carolina History Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check with the ticket desk for additional information and specific tour times.

Sunday
Noon to 6 p.m.
