Holiday-Themed Tours | Daily Through Jan. 3

Fri-Sat, 10am-5pm |  Sunday, Noon to 5pm
Take in the sights and smells of the Governor’s Palace and historic homes while they are decorated for the holiday season with different eras represented at each stop. (Tours continue through Jan. 3). Click here for details.

35th Annual Candlelight Christmas Celebration | Dec. 12 and 19, 2015

This famed North Carolina tradition returns to Tryon Palace in 2015 with beautiful, new decorations and heartwarming holiday vignettes illuminated by the magical glow of candlelight. Tours are held each Saturday night from 4:30-9:30pm. Click here details.

Lunch and Learn — Candlelight Past and Present | Dec. 18, 2015

Learn how our talented team of volunteers and staff make the magic of Candlelight a reality every year. Learn about the decorating, costuming, and research involved in Candlelight 2015, and take a look at the history of the event itself!  Click here for details. 

Child's Play: Celebrating the History of Toys and Games | Nov. 21, 2015-Jan. 10, 2016

Exhibit
Open Fri-Sat, 10am-5pm and  Sunday, Noon to 5pm. 
Child’s Play, a new holiday exhibition of toys will range from 18th-century ivory dominoes and 20th-century model trains, to homemade toys, tech toys, and more. Click here for details(Free) 

Toys for Tots Discount

Beginning Nov. 27 and running through Dec. 19, all visitors who brings an unwrapped toy as a donation to Toys for Tots will receive a 10-percent discount on regular admission One Day Passes and Galleries Passes (does not include tickets to Candlelight or Gardens Pass).

Photos with Santa Claus
Fri-Sat, 10am-5pm, Sun, noon-5pm
Get your picture taken with Santa all weekend. Mrs. Claus will also provide face painting on Friday and Saturday. (Free)

White Christmas
Saturday, 8pm
Join us for the 1954 Christmas classic "White Christmas" starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. Click here for details.

Polar Express
Sunday, 2pm
See this family holiday film about a young boy that takes a magical train ride to the North Pole. After the movie, children will meet the Polar Express conductor and receive a bell. Click here for details.

Live Music
Friday, 10am-Noon
Free performance of holiday music by the Down East Dulcimers. (Free)

Throughout the weekend visitors will also have the opportunity to thank service men and women by writing a letter or drawing a picture to wish them a happy holiday season. (Free)
