Youth Program to Explore the Lives of 18th-Century Children

Children ages 6-10 can explore the Governor’s Palace and what life was like for children in the 18th century during “Tryon’s Explorers: A Kid’s Life,” Thursday, May 12, at 10 a.m.

Participating children will see how the Governor’s children and their servants lived by visiting the Governor’s Palace and servant’s quarters in the Kitchen Office, and play 18th-century children’s games.

Tryon’s Explorers is designed for individual families and space is limited to 20 children. Extra openings will be filled the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis. Any group interested in more information about Tryon’s Explorers is encouraged to call Tryon Palace Group Services at 252-639-3524.

Tickets are $6 per child with one accompanying adult admitted free and additional adults are $6 each. Program is included with the purchase of a One Day Pass and members of the Tryon Palace Foundation will be admitted for free.
