Discounted admission available for immediate family members
Tryon Palace will offer free admission for all active duty and military veterans on Veterans Day and discounted admission to accompanying family members.
Free and discounted passes will include tours of the Governor’s Palace, Stanly House and Dixon House, as well as access to the gardens and North Carolina History Center. Exhibits available inside the North Carolina History Center include the Regional History Museum and the Pepsi Family Center, which transports visitors of all ages to an interactive experience allowing them to live and work in a 19th-century coastal North Carolina village.
Passes for veterans and their families will be available at both Tryon Palace ticket desks, located at the North Carolina History Center and the Waystation, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11. All discounts require military identification or proof of service.
Other special events occurring at Tryon Palace this Veterans Day include a U.S. Naturalization Ceremony and a free performance by the U.S. Air Force Heritage Brass Band.
The naturalization ceremony will include several active duty members of the military and begin inside Cullman Performance Hall at 10:30 a.m. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The U.S. Air Force Heritage Brass concert will offer a pioneering symphonic brass ensemble presenting a diverse repertoire of orchestral transcriptions, patriotic favorites, jazz standards, new compositions and distinctive arrangements. Doors open for the concert at 6:15 p.m. and reservations are recommended. All seats are general admission and may be reserved by phone at 252-639-3525 or online at www.tryonpalace.org. All remaining seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
