Children ages 3-5 will learn about quilts from the 18th and 19th centuries during Tryon Palace’s first Tryon’s Tots program of the year, held 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11. In addition to learning about quilts, children will also have the chance to make a paper quilt of their own.
Participants are also invited to visit “Pins and Needles: A Twin Rivers Quilters Guild Exhibition.” Located in the Duffy Exhibition Gallery, this free exhibit displays an array of modern quilts of all shapes and sizes.
Tryon’s Tots is designed for individual families and space is limited to 20 children. Extra openings will be filled the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis. Any group interested in more information about Tryon’s Tots is encouraged to call Tryon Palace Group Services at 252-639-3524.
Tickets are $6 per child with one accompanying adult admitted free and additional adults are $6 each. Program is also included with the purchase of a One Day Pass and members of the Tryon Palace Foundation will be admitted for free.
