Tryon Palace Offers Free Gardens Admission during Mumfest Weekend

Gardens open free Oct. 9-11, Fall Heritage Plant Sale held Oct. 9-10 

The Tryon Palace gardens will be open for free during Mumfest weekend, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 9-11. Hundreds of mums and a variety of fall blooming plants will be on display throughout the 16 acres of gardens.

The Fall Heritage Plant Sale will also be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10, on the Daves House Lawn. This annual plant sale offers a selection of plants grown locally and in the Palace’s nursery yard, as well as a wide variety of perennials, herbs, fall vegetables and more.    

Both the Tryon Palace Craft and Garden Shop and the Museum Store will be open Friday and Saturday with a storewide 10% off sale (does not include consignment and sale items).   

The Tryon Palace Fife and Drum Corps will perform Saturday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Gardens will be free and open to the public Friday, Oct. 9, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 11, from noon to 6 p.m.
