Tryon Palace Hosts Free Holiday Ornament Workshop for Kids

Children ages 5-12 invited to make their own ornament Saturday, Dec. 12

With time left to deck the halls, children ages 5-12 are invited to the North Carolina History Center for a free holiday ornament workshop Saturday, Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants will create a teddy bear ornament using an ornament ball, cotton balls and sequins to take home and hang on the Christmas tree. Workshop also includes free youth galleries pass (includes Pepsi Family Center) and 10-percent discounted admission on galleries pass for adults.

While children can participate in the Holiday Ornament Workshop any time between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., preregistration is recommended by visiting www.tryonpalace.org/free-art-workshop-kids. These workshops and admission passes will be limited to 80 children.

The Holiday Ornament Workshop is offered free of charge thanks to a grant from the Craven County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation.

Adults are not required to purchase a ticket for the workshop but children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
