Tryon Palace Awarded International Paper Foundation Grant for 2020 Gardens Programming

NEW BERN, N.C. – July 16, 2019
The Tryon Palace Foundation is honored to thank the International Paper Foundation for their generous support of the Tryon Palace 2020 Gardens Programming: Planting Seeds of Learning. The $1,775 grant, awarded in July 2019, will enable Tryon Palace to offer low-cost and free pollinator programming, including lectures, special tours, and demonstrations.
“On behalf of the staff and volunteers who dedicate their time, energy, and knowledge to the gardens at Tryon Palace, I’d like to extend a very grateful ‘Thank You’ to the International Paper Foundation,” said Hadley Cheris, Gardens and Greenhouse Manager, Tryon Palace. “With the funds provided through this grant, we will be able to provide a strong program for 2020 that will help visitors of all ages appreciate our natural world.”
Tryon Palace currently offers a monthly garden lecture that is free to attendees on the second Saturday of each month. Tryon Palace also hosts an annual National Pollinator Week program each June, which provides tours, lectures, movies, and educational materials about the importance of pollinators in the natural world.
