NEW BERN, NC – November 17, 2016
The Nov. 17 installment of the Tryon Palace African American Lecture Series will feature a dramatic performance of North Carolina playwright E.J. Stewart’s “Another Family Reunion: A Word Without Me.” The free performance will begin at 7 p.m. in Cullman Performance Hall at the North Carolina History Center.
“Another Family Reunion: A Word Without Me” is an original historical play that uses the humor, history, and drama of a family reunion in the 1990s to relay the importance of African American Inventors in our everyday lives.
E.J. Stewart is an author, historian storyteller and playwright, and a speaker for the North Carolina Humanities Council Road Scholars Program.
The Tryon Palace African American Lecture Series offers a free, new program on the third Thursday of each month. All performances begin at 7 p.m. in Cullman Performance Hall and are free, thanks to a generous donation from the Harold H. Bate Foundation. Special hearing devices are available if needed.
