‘The Power of Music’ Features Local Choirs and Education Discussions

NEW BERN, NC – Nov. 16, 2017

Tryon Palace will hold a presentation featuring songs and a discussion on the importance of art programs at this month’s African American Lecture Series. “The Power of Music” will be held on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Cullman Performance Hall at the North Carolina History Center.

Through the voices of the Craven Community College’s Show Choir, ENCORE! and the Craven Community College Gospel Choir, this performance will demonstrate the power of music as students will be sharing their gifts of music as well as their love of singing. This program will allow the audience to enjoy the inspirational singing from the local college choir while discussing why art programs in the school system are essential to a well-balanced education.

This lecture is part of the monthly African American Lecture Series organized by Tryon Palace.
