‘Palace Pours: Oktoberfest’ Offers After-Hours Look at History

NEW BERN, NC – September 13, 2017

Tryon Palace will mix history with craft beers during “Palace Pours: Oktoberfest” Wednesday, Sept. 13. The event will be held at the Commission House at 5:30 p.m.

The September Palace Pours will feature a lecture on Oktoberfest and its beginnings in Germany. While attendees sample a selection of German beers, a presenter will lead a discussion about the development and transition of Oktoberfest in Germany and what it means in today’s culture.

Oktoberfest is part of Palace Pours, an after-hours look at history while enjoying craft beers or wines at rotating locations around Tryon Palace.

Palace Pours is open to ages 21 and over. A ticket price of $12 includes a flight of craft beer (three 4-ounce samples) and additional beer will be available for purchase. Non-alcoholic beverages also available.
