Learn About the Politics Around 18th-Century Kitchens at Tryon Palace

Join Tryon Palace Friday, May 20, at noon, for Lunch and Learn: “Political Intrigue in the Kitchen.” From the founding of the English stock market to tea smuggling cartels and international espionage, this Lunch and Learn will show how simple ingredients became politicized in the colonies.

Held in the North Carolina History Center on the third Friday of every month, this bring-your-own lunch series is designed to dive deeper into the history surrounding Tryon Palace and New Bern.

Tickets for each Lunch and Learn event are $6 per person and free for Tryon Palace Foundation members. Each Lunch and Learn will begin at noon and guests will meet in Mattocks Hall inside the North Carolina History Center.
