Free Children’s Spring Art Workshop at Tryon Palace

Gardens-inspired crafts and free garden admission for kids April 18

Children ages 5-12 are invited to the North Carolina History Center for a free Spring Art Workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 18. Space for this event is limited and parents are encouraged to sign up their children early by calling 252-639-3524.

Drawing inspiration from the Tryon Palace Gardens, each child in attendance will create a 3-D paper flower bouquet and receive a free gardens pass for the day. Workshops will be conducted by a certified North Carolina Public School art teacher and projects can easily be adapted for children with special needs.

While children can attend the Spring Art Workshop any time between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., preregistration is recommended. Spaces in the workshop and gardens passes will be limited to 80 children.

The Spring Art Workshop is offered free of charge thanks to a grant from the Craven County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation. To register a child for this event, call 252-639-3524.
