April 22nd is Backyard Jam, this spring’s country concert event, taking place right here in Eastern North Carolina! Presented by Swiss Bear, Inc. on the Riverside Auto Group Main Stage on the South Lawn of Tryon Palace, Backyard Jam features a line-up that includes headliner Eric Paslay, as well as up and coming Jordan Davis, and local favorite Bryan Mayer.
Paslay, a platinum-selling artist, has written six number 1country songs for groups like Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum and Eli Young Band. Two years ago he moved from back stage to center stage with his own number 1 hit “Friday Nights”, off of his critically acclaimed debut album “Eric Paslay”. He was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2016 Academy of Country Music awards for “She Don’t Love You” and for Best Country Duo/Group at the 2016 Grammy awards for “The Driver”. Paslay’s second album is expected to be released later this year. According to Buddy Bengel, coordinator of Backyard Jam, “Paslay is one of the best singer songwriters in the industry. This is a ‘can’t miss’ concert and a great follow up to Swiss Bear’s Love and Theft concert in 2015.”
Since moving to Nashville 4 years ago, Jordan Davis has toured non-stop with artists like Chase Rice, David Nail, and The Cadillac Three. He recently signed with Universal and is currently recording his debut album.
The final addition to the line-up is eastern NC’s favorite country vocalist, Bryan Mayer. Mayer is a sought after performer on the country music circuit, and is especially popular in the Carolinas.
