Spend the day playing your favorite backyard game in North Carolina's favorite backyard as the Home Builders Association of Craven and Pamlico Counties presents "The Governor's Challenge" cornhole tournament.
Held Friday, November 2 on the Tryon Palace South Lawn, the Governor's Challenge invites amateur cornhole players to kick off the weekend with a day of food, drinks, beautiful views, and of course, cornhole.
Team registration is $150 per two-person team (plus $5 online processing fee) if registered by Oct. 26 and $175 per two-person team (plus $5 online processing fee) if registered the week of the event, which includes lunch, snacks, and beverages. Any team with two consecutive championship wins in the Governor’s Challenge Tournament must skip a tournament year before they are eligible to compete again.
Proceeds from this event will be used to support Tryon Palace.
For those not playing, come enjoy free admission to Tryon Palace Gardens! Be a spectator, cheer on your favorite team, and stroll through our 16 acres of gardens. No coolers, please. First toss at 11 a.m.
