Outlander: Spark of the Rebellion

June 18, 9:15 – 10:15 AM

From the grounds of the first permanent capital of the colony in New Bern, explore the time-travelling stories from the Outlander books and cable series. In the 2022 Outlander morning tour, The Spark of Rebellion, we walk in the literary footsteps of Colonel James Fraser, his wife Claire, and their family as they journey through the events leading to Revolution. Through interactions with historic interpreters in the local militia, a local physick, and palace servants, you will learn that recently appointed Royal Governor Josiah Martin has taken his oath to King and Country amid whispers of discontent and unrest among the colonists. Join us to learn more of the facts versus fiction as the Fraser family and their friends review the aftermath of the Battle of Regulation and begin to determine – as do you – are we to stand for the King, or is it time to risk everything in the pursuit of Liberty?

This ticket does not include a tour of the Palace itself nor the North Carolina History Center. The ticket does include the Tryon Palace Gardens and guests are encouraged to explore these areas of the site on their own after the tour concludes.)
