New Bern Academy Exhibits

Open every Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 12:30 – 4:30 PM

FREE admission to four exhibits at North Carolina’s first public school chartered by the NC General Assembly in 1764.  During the Civil War the building served as a hospital called the Academy Green. It was also the site where the 35th Regiment of the United States Colored Troops mustered prior to battle.

Exhibits include –  Face to Face: Civil War Sketches and  Stories; New Bern Architecture; Civil War Military Occupation; and History of Education.
