The Tryon Palace Children’s Summer Movies Series Presents: Matilda

“Matilda,” the 1996 film adaptation of a work by Roald Dahl, tells the story of Matilda Wormwood, a gifted girl forced to put up with a crude, distant father and mother. Worse, Agatha Trunchbull, the evil principal at Matilda's school, is a terrifyingly strict bully. However, when Matilda realizes she has hidden power, she begins to defend her friends from Trunchbull's wrath and fight back against her unkind parents.

Doors open at 5:30 PM; the movie will begin at 6 PM. Join us before the movie for an awe-inspiring performance of Magic by Luther to get you in the enchanting spirit!

This film is rated PG and runs approximately 1 hr 42 min.

Admission is free and seating will be determined on a first come, first served basis. Beverages with lids and dry foods welcome. The Tryon Palace Museum Store will also be selling light concessions.
