18th Century Time Travelers’ Tour

Join Tryon Palace interpreters for an adventure back to the 18th century. Meet the Governor’s cook in the Kitchen Office and learn facts versus fiction of cuisine from the 18th-19th centuries featured in shows such as Bridgerton, Outlander, Poldark, and more. A local Apothecary or Surgeon will discuss remedies of the time to ward off illness including instruments used for surgery. Details of the latest fashion trends will help you travel to the past successfully. The tour includes access to the Kitchen Office, 18th century Stable Office, militia encampment, and the Palace Gardens.
