Tryon Palace Offers New Holiday Décor Behind the Scenes Tours

NEW BERN, NC – November 27, 2017

Tryon Palace is introducing a new holiday themed tour series this holiday season. “Holiday Décor Behind the Scenes” will take place Monday mornings at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 27, Dec. 4, Dec. 11 and Dec. 18.

This limited series will take visitors on a tour of the Governor’s Palace and focus on the decorations for the upcoming “Seasons of Giving: A Christmas Candlelight Celebration.” Hadley Cheris, Tryon Palace Gardens and Greenhouse Manager, will lead a tour of the first floor of the Governor’s Palace, describing the special items used in the decorations and the theming of the pieces.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for youth, or $6 for adults and $3 for youth if purchased with a One Day Pass. Tickets are free for Tryon Palace Foundation members.

“Holiday Décor Behind the Scenes” tours will begin and end at the Governor’s Palace front gates. Tickets can be purchased at the North Carolina History Center, located at 529 S. Front St., the Waystation, located on the corner of George St. and Pollock St, or by calling 252-639-3524.
