Michael Tracy, MFA, Faculty Coordinator for the ECU GlasStation in Farmville, will present a public lecture on the history of glass and its uses as an artistic medium. His talk will focus primarily American studio glass movement, comparing and contrasting it with previous glass factories (such as that of Louis C. Tiffany), and touch on current trends in glass artistry.
Michael Tracy was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. He received his BFA from the University of Texas at Arlington and his MFA from Illinois State University. Michael is currently the glass blowing instructor for East Carolina University teaching at the GlasStation in Farmville, NC.
