Council of Friends

Tryon Palace is a public-private partnership that relies on the generous contributions and active participation of Council of Friends members.

As a Friends member, you join a growing number of like-minded people who believe in preserving and sharing North Carolina’s early history and in supporting educational programs that inform and inspire future generations.

Through the Tryon Palace Council of Friends, you can be part of that heritage. Be a storyteller. Be a Friend. Make a difference.

Membership Levels

There are many ways for you to be a Friend and join the Tryon Palace family. Pick the one that is right for you.

All membership categories include:
• 10% discount at Museum Store (excluding sale items)
• Palace magazine subscription
• “Friends-Only” event and preview invitations
• Discounted admission to lectures and concerts
• Early purchase privileges before the general public on select events
• Opportunity to participate in the Friends travel program

Memberships are non-transferrable. ID required when using. Free general admission is to the historic buildings, gardens and galleries open to the public during hours of operation and does not include special events that are not included with general admission.

$75 Associate Membership
A year’s free general admission for 1 adult cardholder when you present your membership card, with ID, at our Ticket Desk.

$150 Family Membership
A year’s free general admission for two adult cardholders and all children and/or grandchildren 18 years of age and younger when you present your membership
card(s), with ID, at our Ticket Desk.

The VIP tours vary with each membership level and will be customized to the extent possible to accommodate the member’s interests.

Membership Activities

Additional fees may be required for members to participate in these activities:
